A half-hour walk from the holiday park you’ll find the attractive village of Arncliffe, the original filming location for Emmerdale, and you can also drive 30 minutes to the market town of Skipton, perfect whether you’re just picking up supplies, visiting the market, or exploring the heritage of this pretty town.

Things to Try

Skipton

It’s less than a half-hour drive to the award-winning market town of Skipton, where you can visit the market, marvel at the imposing medieval fortress that is Skipton Castle, take a stroll through the ancient woodland habitat of Skipton Castle Woods, and much more – it’s a great place for a day trip.

Bolton Abbey

The gorgeous grounds of Bolton Abbey truly have to be seen to be believed, offering 30,000 acres to explore along 80 miles of footpaths. Explore the ruins of the 12th century priory church, stroll along the bank of the beautiful River Wharfe, and simply lose yourself in the stunning, mystical landscape.

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway

There’s nothing that stokes the nostalgia quite like a trip on a traditional steam train, and this scenic route running from the historic Embsay Station to Bolton Abbey Station is just the ticket, with the glorious landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales making this the perfect setting for a relaxing ride.

Hesketh Farm Park

A brilliant place for a family day out, Hesketh Farm Park is a working farm with over a thousand cattle, sheep and pigs, set within 10 acres of grounds and open to the public. Especially appropriate for younger children, they can meet and feed the animals, enjoy the play areas, and plenty more besides.

The nearby village of Arncliffe is home to the Falcon Inn, a traditional pub which serves up delicious meals and a range of refreshing drinks, sitting prettily alongside a village green to offer a truly classic experience. It’s also the original setting for the Woolpack pub in ITV soap opera Emmerdale.

The village of Malham is definitely worth the journey, being a traditional Yorkshire village that’s also close to some truly stunning scenery. From here you can take a trek to visit the limestone cliff of Malham Cove, the striking gorge known as Gordale Scar, and the enchanting waterfall of Janet’s Foss.
