Near the river

The River Camel flows through 30 miles of the Cornish landscape, originating in Bodmin Moor and running all the way to the Camel Estuary where it joins the sea. The river offers some great opportunities for scenic walks, wildlife watching, and fishing for salmon and sea trout.

Near the coast

For a day filled with family fun, head to Camel Creek Adventure Park. There's a range of rollercoasters, thrill rides and other experiences on offer, suitable for all ages, as well as amazing animal encounters and the opportunity to meet popular kids' characters such as Peppa Pig and the Gruffalo.

Cornwall At War Museum

History buffs won't want to miss out on a visit to the Davidstow Airfield & Cornwall at War Museum, covering everything you could ever want to know about Cornwall's role in WWII. This immersive attraction takes you back in time with an eclectic range of fascinating displays and exhibits.

Padstow Brewing Company

There's plenty of places to eat around here. Grab a tasty fried breakfast at Ben's Crib Box Café in Padstow. Make a night of it with dinner at the high-end Dining Room in Rock. And stop in at Granny Wobbly's Fudge Pantry in Wadebridge for some delicious, traditionally made fudge.

For Attractions

A huge part of this area's appeal is of course its beautiful beaches. Visit the secluded cove of Lundy Bay at low tide to find a hidden stretch of sand as well as some great rockpools. Within the Camel Estuary, head to Rock Beach or Daymer Bay for gorgeous golden shores.

For Activities

The Camel Trail is an 18-mile pathway running along the banks of the Camel Estuary and through Cornwall's unspoilt countryside, perfect for walking, cycling or horse-riding.
