The Gate House, Wimborne, Dorset
The Gate House is located on a fantastic country estate on the edge of the market town of Wimborne in Dorset, perfect for a relaxing break. Whether for an extended family get-together or a holiday with plenty of friends along for the ride, the Gate House is the perfect holiday accommodation for large groups, with space to host up to 16 people without ever feeling like you're running out of room.
This attractive country house is perfect for larger groups, with 7 bedrooms which can sleep up to 16 guests. Situated on the Dean's Court Estate on the outskirts of Wimborne, a short walk will take you straight into this wonderful market town where you'll find cafés, pubs and restaurants, as well as a market every weekend that's perfect for picking up local produce. You can also head further afield with a huge range of fantastic walking routes where you can explore the Dorset countryside.
The house, of course, offers plentiful space to socialise and unwind. On the ground floor you'll find an inviting drawing room, granted a cosy ambience by the open fire, with entertainment courtesy of the Apple TV with a Netflix account and £20 of credit for Apple movie downloads. Or you may prefer the media and games room, where there's a 75" screen hooked up to a high-end sound system and an Xbox One gaming console (with Microsoft Game Pass included), as well as beanbags and table football. There's room for sit-down meals with everyone in attendance, with a dining room that seats sixteen, as well as a separate breakfast room with another dining table and chairs. You'll need a well-equipped kitchen to cater for so many people, and it certainly meets expectations with its AGA cooker, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer, as well as making cleaning up easy with its dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. One of the bedrooms is also located on the ground floor, a twin room with two single beds and an en-suite shower room. A separate WC is also provided for your convenience.
The first floor houses five bedrooms, with three double bedrooms with king-sized beds (one of these with an en-suite shower room) and two twin bedrooms. On this floor, there's also a bathroom with a bath and separate shower cubicle, as well as a separate WC. A spiral staircase leads up to the second floor, where you'll find a large and characterful bedroom containing one king-size bed and two single beds, as well as charming features such as exposed stonework, brick and ceiling beams. It also has an en-suite bathroom with a roll-top bath.
For sunny days and summer evenings, there's a large garden offering plenty of outdoor space, which includes garden furniture, a charcoal barbecue, and mostly importantly a luxurious hot tub.
You'll receive a welcome basket of local foods on arrival, including freshly baked bread, locally produced eggs and jam, and homemade treats, as well as essentials like milk, tea, and coffee.
