At its centre are various village greens where the unpredictable tidal Goose Beck ford runs through. Head to the famous Hoste Arms to sample the local ales in its cosy and welcoming front bar and enjoy dining in one of its two fabulous restaurants, or on warmer days dine alfresco in their sunny rear courtyard garden. Book time in their spa and pamper yourself or take advantage of their hot tub or if you are a true foodie, then head to the stylish Socius restaurant, No.Twenty9 or 20 North Street which are attracting a growing following. Burnham Market still attracts many celebrities, making sure you visit in late November/December to see the Christmas lights switch-on or in July and August to experience the Carnival or Craft Fair. The beaches at Brancaster, Burnham Overy Staithe and Holkham are just a ten-fifteen minute driveaway, as is Wells-next-the-Sea with its famous beach huts and pinewoods. Take a boat trip to see the seals from Blakeney or Morston and make sure you visit one of the stately homes at Houghton, Blickling or Felbrigg or HM The Queen’s private residence at Sandringham. The RSPB nature reserves at Titchwell and Snettisham are also well-worth a visit.
