What can I do?
If you enjoy a good bike ride, the Cotswolds offers some of the best cycling opportunities in the UK, with routes which range from the energetic to the tranquil. Follow winding trails through lush countryside or take on challenging uphill climbs, whatever you prefer. Be sure to do your research beforehand and pick out the trails you'd like to follow - there are even clubs you can join or companies offering guided tours.
Museum in the Park
Delve into the history of the market town of Stroud with a visit to this marvellous museum. Find out all about the heritage and past of the local area by exploring a variety of artifacts ranging from ancient fossils to the world's first lawnmower. There's also an art gallery and walled garden to see, all located in the grounds of the gorgeous Stratford Park - why not pay a visit and make a day of it?
A truly unique place to visit, Woodchester Mansion is an unfinished Gothic mansion from the Victorian era. Construction was abandoned in 1873, and you can now explore the Grade I listed building and see the incomplete structure and the building techniques that were being used. The grounds of the mansion are also worth exploring, with a range of scenic walking routes through superb woodland and lakeside environments.
