Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, near the River Lune and the attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, Woodclose Park is a fantastic place to take a break in tranquil and scenic surroundings. Set within nine acres of grounds, this countryside escape offers a range of superb accommodation including a variety of rustic and stylish glamping pods as well as a superb self-catering flat. Pet-friendly options are available for those who would like to bring along the dog.

Woodclose Park is ideal for exploring all the charms of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, as well as venturing slightly further afield for trips to the Lake District National Park. A range of walking and cycling routes make exploring the local area a treat, too.

Woodclose Park’s superb location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales guarantees scenic surroundings and easy access to this gorgeous national park, and the popular Lake District is also just a 20-minute drive away.

On-site shop

You won’t run short of daily essentials thanks to the park’s handy shop, providing local produce including milk, eggs, bread, bacon and sausages, as well as useful equipment. You can even order your daily papers.

Play areas and games

The little ones can let off some steam in the kids’ play area, with a range of fun equipment, and there’s a separate area for enjoying ball games. A table tennis table is also located outside the main reception.

Nature Trail

With a Gold rating from the David Bellamy Conservation Awards, Woodclose Park is a haven for nature. Information on local wildlife can be found at reception, with a Nature Trail to follow through the park.

Nearby town

Woodclose Park is less than a mile from the historic local market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, fantastic for restaurants, pubs, tea rooms, and sightseeing. The mysterious ancient landmark of Devil’s Bridge is also close by.

Yorkshire Dales

Woodclose Park boasts a superb location right on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With thousands of square miles of rugged scenery, including rolling hills, plunging valleys, craggy moors, and charming villages, this beautiful and unspoilt landscape is an unforgettable experience that any outdoors enthusiast will love to explore.

Lake District

The popular Lake District National Park is just a 20-minute drive from Woodclose Park and is well worth a visit. As well as its sixteen lakes, which include Windermere, England’s largest body of water, this incredible location is also home to Scafell Pike, the country’s highest mountain, as well as countless walking trails and amazing attractions.

White Scar Cave

Situated within the stunning surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales, White Scar Cave is the longest show cave in the UK. Take the tour of this incredible natural cave system and marvel at underground waterfalls, incredible and eerie rock formations, and the vast Battlefield Cavern. On-site facilities include a café, shop, and picnic areas.

Wensleydale Creamery

No self-respecting cheese enthusiast would want to miss out on a chance to visit Wensleydale Creamery, where authentic Yorkshire Wensleydale is produced. Take the tour and learn about the history of cheese-making, watch demonstrations of traditional cheese production methods, and of course visit the cheese shop to buy some for yourself.

For a variety of places to eat and drink, the town of Kirkby Lonsdale is conveniently near Woodclose Park and offers a selection of cafés, restaurants, and pubs. You can even visit the local real ale brewery, which also has its own craft beer inn and sits alongside an independent coffee company.

For Attractions

There are a number of nearby locations sure to catch your eye. The gorgeous River Lune can be found nearby, spanned by the historic and mysterious Devil’s Bridge. It’s also just a 12-minute drive to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with beautiful views and gorgeous landscapes.

Woodclose Park is a perfect home base for an active holiday, with countless walking and cycling trails close at hand. The village of Ingleton is just 6 miles away and is the starting point for the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, a five-mile woodland walking route past a number of scenic waterfalls.
