The on-site Boathouse Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, or just grab a snack or a quick drink. Based in the building that used to be the Abbey’s boating house, it boasts brilliant views across Loch Ness and offers traditional Scottish cuisine as well as Mediterranean dishes.

Highland Club Lounge

Set in what was once a monks’ refectory, this wonderfully restored lounge, with its timber panelling and stained-glass windows, is the perfect place to relax. Unwind on comfortable chairs and sofas and make use of the snooker table, children’s pool table, games cupboard, table football and free Wi-Fi.

Loch and Canal

The village of Fort Augustus is based on the shores of the famous Loch Ness, perfectly located to take a cruise and explore the area. Or you can take a boat along part of the 60-mile Caledonian Canal, which runs through the village and connects to a number of other great Scottish lochs.

Chapel Pool, Steam, Sauna and Gym

For those who like to stay active on holiday, you can take an invigorating swim in the heated 10m Chapel Pool, and relax afterwards in the steam room and sauna. And if you’re really looking to keep in shape, there’s also a gym with weights and cycling, running and rowing equipment.

Caledonian Canal Centre

The Caledonian Canal Centre provides information, souvenirs, and tasty food. Find out all about the history of the local area, pick up superb locally sourced goods, and enjoy some homemade Scottish dishes in the welcoming café. Or just stop in and grab a takeaway coffee or local artisan ice cream.

Fort William

The famous town of Fort William, known as the gateway to Ben Nevis and the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, is less than an hour’s drive from Fort Augustus, and is definitely worth a visit during your trip, whether you’re planning on climbing the UK’s highest mountain or not.
