Par Sands provides the perfect holiday base to explore delights of Cornwall, including the unspoilt and breathtaking coastline. This luxury caravan holiday park in Cornwall has close proximity to an array of quaint Cornish villages, bustling market towns, and acclaimed tourist attractions.
Par, Cornwall is a short stroll from the holiday park, nestled in the shores of St Austell Bay. This picturesque village and fishing port comprises several friendly pubs, shops and restaurants and offers scenic coastal walks and cycle paths.

Fowey

Fowey (pronounced Foy to rhyme with Joy) is situated on the south coast of Cornwall between Looe and Mevagissey. Fowey boasts an excellent selection of quality shops and galleries, many exhibiting local works. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), this quaint harbour town has a unique charm all of its own.

Mevagissey

Nearby Mevagissey, Cornwall is an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall's Pilchard fishery, and still boasts a working harbour with a few dozen small fishing boats. In the narrow streets there are gift shops, craft workshops, galleries, cafes and pubs, not to mention several great fish restaurants and fish & chip shops!

Eden Project

Just outside of St Austell is the spectacular Eden Project, the world’s biggest greenhouse. Educational charity, world-class visitor attraction, botanical garden, unique regeneration venture - the Eden Project is all of these things, and then some. It truly is a fantastic place well worth a visit.

Lost Gardens of Heligan

Also nearby you can find the Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of the most mysterious estates in England. This award-winning garden restoration is already internationally acclaimed and promises a fascinating day out.

Flambards Experience

Near Helston you'll find the fabulous Flambards Experience. Described as one of the most popular tourist attractions in the South West of England, this is a theme park and fun-packed family day out with a difference! Offering rides, entertainment, activities and exhibitions, the Flambards Experience has something for everyone.

With unique undercover exhibitions boasting the Flambards Victorian Village, Britain in The Blitz and Memory Lane exhibitions. Newquay

Camel Valley Vineyards

Golf

There are 35 golf courses in Cornwall to choose from, all offering a unique challenge from Parkland courses to Links courses. Below is a list of the golf courses within a close distance to Par Sands;

Walking / cycling

If you fancy a rewarding cycle or walk in St Austell, then why not visit the Coast and Clay Trail. The Coast and Clay Trail is a part of the Sustrans National Network, and makes up a number different trails from Bodmin to Truro via St Austell.  These trails takes you from Bodmin, passing through famous attractions like the Eden Project and China Clay Trails, towards St Austell. Through Pentewan Valley towards the coast, passing through further attractions such as Heligan Gardens and Mevagissey. The route then follows through quiet lanes of the Roseland Peninsula to cross the River Fal at the King Harry Ferry before finishing in Truro.

The Coast and Clay Trail is made up of a number of smaller trails including Pentewan Trail, St Austell Trail, China Clay Trail, St Blazey Trail, Bugle Trail and wheal Martyn, which are all on Par Sands’s doorstep. So join the trail from Par Sands Holiday Park.

Horse riding 

There are a number of horse riding stables in St Austell offering a range of outings and riding instruction for anyone from the novice to the experienced equestrian.

If you fancy trying your hand at sailing in St Austell, there are two sailing clubs to choose from which are in close proximity to Par Sands, these are;

Surfing in Cornwall

Surfing in Cornwall is mainly regarded as a North Coast sport, but nevertheless there are often popular locations of surf on the south coast beaches, such as Pentewan.

If you fancy tackling the bigger waves at the professional locations, then Surfing in Newquay  is only a short drive away. Newquay is regarded as the surfing capital of the UK, with excellent waves and facilities like Fistral beach, which is the venue for the UK's leading surf competitions including the Rip Curl Boardmasters, the Quicksilver Skins and the BUSA Championships.
