We are delighted to offer you 12 detached luxurious Scandinavian lodges and 1 beautifully furnished cottage at the Dorset Resort, a self contained golf and bowls village located in a rural woodland setting between Wareham and Bere Regis.The accommodation has been awarded a 5 star grading by VisitBritain.

Dorset is an unrivalled destination for a UK holiday. The County offers a varied mix of rolling hills, thatched cottages, superb sandy beaches, traditional seaside resorts, nature reserves, dramatic cliffs and , a wealth of country houses and heritage museums. Guests will be spoilt for choice of things to do and see in the area. Within a 20 minute drive are Corfe Castle ,Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door,Studland Bay and Brownsea Island.

Resort Facilities

Clubhouse Bar and Restaurant

Guests will be able to make full use of the Resorts bar and restaurant. There is no need to jump in the car and to worry about having that extra glass of wine before you drive home. Lunches are available in the bar. The restaurant has earned several accolades for its fine dining. The Head Chef prides himself in using the very best locally sourced ingredients including game and seafood.


The Dorset Resort boasts an excellent 27 hole Championship Golf Course comprising 3 loops of 9 holes. The Course has been built to a USGA specification and has three resident professionals and fully stocked golf shop. Golf lessons are available by arrangement. There is also a fully equipped driving range and putting practice area. Green fees will apply to guests. You may be interested in the all inclusive golf packages we offer.  These start from £66.95 per person per night for Table d'hote dinner, lodge or cottage accommodation, breakfast and as much golf as you can play.  Minimum bookings are for two nights for four people.

Gym and Sauna

There is a well equipped gym and sauna on site which guests can use by arrangement for no charge.

Walking and Jogging

Guests can leave their car behind and enjoy the freedom to walk or jog (if you are feeling very energetic) the 300 acres of pine forest and heath land on their door step. You can explore deep into ancient forest along a network of paths and tracks covering up to 5 miles where you will more than likely spot deer grazing. Picnic lunches are available from the Resort Clubhouse.


In a quiet corner of the Resort’s grounds are 3 private coarse fishing lakes which guests can use for a daily fee. The lakes are stocked with Carp,Tench, Bream, Rud, Roach, Perch and Pike. Please bring your own fishing tackle with you.

The Spectacular Dorset Countryside

Cycling and Mountain Biking

There is an abundance of designated cycle paths through the local forest and across heath land. We recommend the 7 mile long Sika Trail which meanders around traffic free tracks through the 12,500 acre Wareham Forest . The start point is just 2 miles away and route is flat in most places making it an ideal excursion for cyclists of all ages. 

If you have not brought your bikes with you , they can be hired locally from Wareham Rail Station and even delivered to your front door. 

Clay Pigeon Shooting

If you want to try hitting a few clays during your stay , Purbeck Shooting School is just 2 minutes away from the Resort. They offer tester classes for beginners. 


Flying a glider is not as difficult as it may look. Surfing warm air currents a thousand feet up under the tutelage of a qualified instructor is an exhilarating experience. Instructors of the friendly Dorset Gliding Club welcome beginners. The Club is 3 minutes away and it flies most weekends in the summer.

The Jurassic Coast of Dorset

The Jurassic Coast

Take a walk through time along Dorset’s world heritage coastline. Spanning 95 miles of spectacular scenery this ancient coastline boasts rocks recording 185 million years of the Earth’s history. The kids and adults alike will enjoy searching for fossils along the beaches.

Corfe Castle in Dorset

Corfe Castle

A “must see” on any visitor’s itinerary. The best views of the Castle are from the numerous footpaths to the south of the village. Why not combine your visit with the fabulous Swanage Steam Railway which takes passengers along winding steam train rides through the Dorset hills between Corfe Castle and Swanage.

Dunrobin Castle - John O Groats, Scotland

Monkey World

Only 3 miles away is the most popular visitor attraction in Dorset, Monkey World. It is a sanctuary for 160 rescued apes and monkeys. The site also offers a jungled themed adventure play park, restaurant and shop. A must see family attrraction!

Bovington Tank Museum

Just 2 miles away located in the grounds of Bovington Army Camp is the world’s largest collection of tanks and armoured vehicles from 26 countries. The Museum present daily displays of tanks in action which are a great draw for boys young and old.

Bournemouth Pleasure Pier, Dorset

One of the sights of Bournemouth and indeed Dorset stretching out from the golden sands, Bournemouth Pier offers visits a wide array of gift shops, tea rooms and ice cream parlours. Why not spend a memorable evening in the Key West Restaurant and Bar or take in an entertaining show at the Pier Theatre!

Brownsea Island

The birthplace of the Boy Scout Movement founded by Lord Baden-Powell. The Island is accessed via ferries from Poole and Sandbanks. It contains fine woodland walks and superb views across Poole Harbour. The Island, now owned by the National Trust is teeming with wildlife including red squirrels and deer.
