Limefitt Park, Windemere, Cumbria
The Lake District has one of the most beautiful and dramatic landscapes in England and Limefitt Holiday Park which was awarded a 5* rating from the English Tourism Council has holiday home accommodation in a glorious position right in the heart of all this splendour. It has views over the brooding fells and is also close to Ambleside, Ullswater and Windermere.
One of the most appealing things about the park is Troutbeck Stream which runs right through Limefitt This is a paradise for children as, for most of the year, the slow flowing, waist deep river (or beck in local parlance) is like a natural outdoor swimming pool, complete with hanging rope swings. It only becomes ‘off limits’ after torrential rains.
