Parknasilla, County Kerry, County Kerry
Located on the famous Ring of Kerry and taking its name from the Irish, Pairc na Saileac meaning ‘Field of the Willow Trees’, is the Parknasilla Resort. Set in a subtropical landscape with the Kerry Mountains for a backdrop, the resort’s facilities include a hotel, attractive villas, a world-class health spa and 12-hole golf course all bathed in an agreeable climate, thanks to the effects of the Gulf Stream.
We have teamed up with Natural Retreats to offer you a stay in one of Parknasilla’s villas, set in woodland. You’ll have access to the hotel’s facilities; its indoor pool with floor to ceiling windows, (the better to admire the view as you paddle along), thermal spa offering a menu of natural therapies and wet and dry, warm, hot and cool cabins and two hot tubs. Outside activities available to villa occupants – some free, others for a small charge - are many.
Try a round of golf on the course that is flanked by Kenmore Bay and the Kerry Mountains and set beside the ruins of Derryquin Castle, a game of tennis on floodlit courts, petanque, croquet, archery or clay pigeon shooting. River, lake and deep-sea fishing can be arranged as can riding, cycling and cruises around Kenmare Bay.
There are 500 acres of walks on the doorstep and you can hire maps, guides and even suitable clothing before you head off. And when you feel like exploring further afield, visit one of the many evocative Irish towns nearby for a taste of the local Guinness and perhaps even a visit to a horse fair!
The villas are new and each has a private terrace, three large double bedrooms, one en-suite, an open plan lounge with comfy sofas, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and all the technology you could want including WIFI, a music system with 3,000 tracks and interactive digital TV.
